Zhengzhou Metro (Chinese: 郑州轨道交通) is a rapid transit metro rail network under construction to serve urban and suburban districts of Zhengzhou municipality. The plan of "Zhengzhou Metro line No. 1" as well as "Zhengzhou Metro line No. 2", have been approved by National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) in Feb 2009.[2]

Zhengzhou Metro Line 1, a west-east line with a total length of 34.84 km, starting from Zhengzhou University New Campus and ending in Muzhuang.
The phase currently under construction runs West to East, 22 stations, all underground, 26.34km, opening 2013, stations:
CSR Zhuzhou is to supply six-car Type B metro trains for Line 1 under a contract signed in January 2011.[1]
Zhengzhou Metro Line 2, a north-south line with a total length of 27.30 km, starting from Huiji District and ending in Zhanmatun. The phase currently under construction is North to South, 16 stations (14 underground, 2 elevated), 19.05km (17.25km underground), opening 2015.
As planned, these two projects will start from 2009 and will be finished in 2013 and 2015 respectively[3].
In total six lines are planned.[1]
